Here’s a short list of beekeeping books I’ve read and enjoyed. I’ll add others as I read them; however, I’ve found the internet to be an incredibly valuable resource on beekeeping. Check out my blogroll for sites I frequent.
Keeping Bees and Making Honey – by Alison Benjamin and Brian McCallum – great beginning book for an overview of beekeeping. Beautiful pictures that still serve as a great reference.
Natural Beekeeping - by Ross Conrad and Gary Paul Nabhan – more detail than Keeping Bees and less pictures. I purchased it as a reference for pests/diseases.
Bees: Nature’s Little Wonders - by Candace Savage – A friend bought me this book and I read it cover to cover, completely fascinated. It goes into the details of a bees life that you wouldn’t necessarily read otherwise.
The Backyard Beekeeper – by Kim Flottum – Great into information for beekeepking. I love the recipes in the back – provide a great way to use the extra beeswax.
A book of Bees and How to Keep Them – by Sue Hubbell – Interesting read. More like a story than an introduction to beekeeping, but it was quite enjoyable and I did learn a few things along the way.
